Sailun Group Donates 20 Million CNY to Support the Development of Qingdao University of Science and Technology
Recently, Sailun Group held a donation ceremony at Laoshan campus of Qingdao University of Science and Technology (QUST). Executive deputy director of the National Engineering Research Center for Rubber and Tire, chairman and CEO of Sailun Group, Yuan Zhongxue, executive vice president and CFO, Liu Yanhua, Qingdao University of Science and Technology party secretary, principal and president of the alumni association, Ma Lianxiang, vice-principal, executive vice president of the alumni association, president of Educational Development Foundation, Wei Dianhua were all in attendance for this ceremony.
At the ceremony, Ma lianxiang, on behalf of the university, thanked Yuan Zhongxue and Sailun Group for their help and support to the university. He took the time to introduce the university’s recent achievements in talent training, Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools, discipline development and other aspects. Ma Lianxiang pointed out that the donation of 20 million CNY by Sailun Group to the university is not only Yuan Zhongxue's heavy love for his Alma mater, but also a vivid embodiment of "growing together hand in hand" between Alma mater and alumni. Qingdao University of Science and Technology works closely with Sailun Group to promote local economic and social development, make new and greater contributions for industrial technology innovation, deepen integration strategy of industry and education, and to transform old and new driving forces in Shandong province.
Yuan Zhongxue appreciated the contribution of the university to the development of China's rubber industry and its support to the development of Sailun Group, and said, “It is an enterprise's responsibility to contribute to the university, especially on the eve of the university's 70th anniversary.” He introduced the recent developments of Sailun Group, and pointed out that the enlightened policy environment for innovation and entrepreneurship of the university has injected continuous innovative vitality into the development of university-run enterprises. At the same time, the development and expansion of university-run enterprises have fed back into the development of the university’s various disciplines, which will boost the revival and leap-frog development of China's rubber tire industry.
Ma Lianxiang presented Yuan Zhongxue with a certificate of donation and a commemorative plate during the ceremony.
Wei Dianhua signed the donation agreement with Liu Yanhua on behalf of the university and accepted the donation from Sailun Group.
Director and supervisor of the Education Development Foundation also attended the ceremony.
Since the establishment of the National Engineering Research Center for Rubber and Tire, and with the leadership of Yuan Zhongxue, Sailun Group has donated to Qingdao University of Science and Technology on multiple occasions. Sailun has set up multiple financial awards such as the science and technology innovation awards, Jinsong fund, various school-level and university-level scholarships, while also supporting various other projects like a polymer practical technology competition and school laboratory renovation. Sailun will continue to improve technology research and development in order to build an "open technology innovation platform with deep integration of industry, education and research" with universities, and strive to promote the healthy and sustainable development of the industry.
