NERCRAT DIRECTOR VISITS CHINESE AMBASSADOR TO CAMBODIA
Yuan Zhongxue, Director of National Engineering Research Center for Rubber and Tire (NERCRAT), met with Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian in Phnom Penh on May 6.
Yuan briefed the envoy on the investments and development of enterprises under NERCRAT in Cambodia, as well as the center’s future plans in the Southeast Asian country. Yuan said Cambodia has a strategic location and is a large rubber producer. As the only high-level technology research, development and management platform in China's rubber tire industry, NERCRAT will make use of its strengths to build a rubber factory in Cambodia and help the country transform its resources into economic advantages, while providing high-quality rubber products to global consumers.
Wang spoke highly of NERCRAT’s plans, adding that China and Cambodia have long enjoyed close ties. He said Cambodia is located in the southern Indochinese Peninsula and its neighboring countries are also major rubber exporters, which fits NERCRAT’s development plans. Cambodia is currently building an “industrial development corridor” and welcomes Chinese companies to invest in the country and promote economic growth. He added that the Chinese embassy in Cambodia will fully support NERCRAT’s development in the country.
