Sailun Group designated as ‘major enterprise’ of Qingdao advanced polymer and metal industrial chain
The Qingdao government held a mobilization meeting on April 27 to discuss plans on revitalizing the city’s real economy, and as part of its efforts to implement the ethos of the 13th National People’s Congress and Two Sessions. The meeting announced Qingdao’s three-year action plan to speed up the revitalization and development of the real economy. The meeting also named the first batch of 47 “major enterprises” in Qingdao's advanced manufacturing industry. Sailun Group was designated as “Major Enterprise in the Advanced Polymer and Metal Industrial Chain”.
As a major enterprise in the industrial chain, Sailun Group will leverage on its strengths in research and application of advanced polymer materials to promote technological innovation and strengthen the integration of the industrial chain’s upstream and downstream operations. The company also seeks to develop industrial clusters to facilitate the revitalization and development of Qingdao’s real economy, as well as build a modern socialist international metropolis in the new era.
Serving as the backbone of developing Qingdao’s real economy, Sailun Group is also a “major enterprise” in Shandong province’s manufacturing industrial chain and leader in the top 10 industrial clusters. The company has set up organizations that foster innovation, such as National Engineering Research Center for Rubber and Tires and National Engineering Laboratory for Advanced Tire Equipment and Key Materials. It is the tire industry’s first “national smart manufacturing pilot demonstration enterprise” and “national industrial internet pilot demonstration enterprise”. Moreover, Sailun built the world’s first industrial internet platform in the rubber tire industry – Eco-Rubber Cloud, which was recognized by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as a “distinctive industrial internet platform for key industries”. Sailun is the first company in China that specializes in the core technology of manufacturing giant radial OTR tires on a large scale. In its efforts to help China achieve its “dual carbon goals”, the company used new chemical compounding materials to manufacture its revolutionary EcoPoint3 tires that have met EU labeling requirements.
Coinciding with the 20th anniversary of Sailun Group in 2022, the company will play a leading role in the industrial chain and focus on basic research, advanced material applications and industrial internet. It will also boost technological research, digital transformation and low-carbon development, while helping Qingdao realize its vision of becoming a modern and globally competitive industrial city.
