Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for Sailun Group's Tire Project in Mexico
On May 15th, the groundbreaking ceremony of the joint venture project between Sailun Group and Tire Direct (hereinafter referred to as "TD") was held in Irapuato, Guanajuato State, Mexico. The annual production capacity of the project will be 6 million PCR. Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, Governor of Guanajuato State, Rodolfo Gómez Cervantes, Acting Mayor of Irapuato, Yuan Zhongxue, Honorary Chairman of Sailun Group, and Gonzalo Santamarina, President of TD Company attended the ceremony.
The Mexico tire project is an important step for Sailun Group to "go local". Following the construction of plants in Southeast Asia, it is of great significance for Sailun Group and TD to jointly invest in the construction of a tire production base in Mexico. Such move will further improve the global strategic layout of Sailun Group, better meet the demand of global users, especially in the North American market, enhance competitiveness, and increase market share of Sailun Group in the global market.
The project has received strong support from the government of Guanajuato State and the municipal government of Irapuato. After half a year's efforts, both Sailun Group and TD mobilized the best resources and swiftly started construction. The project will become the first tire enterprise in Marabis Industrial Park, as well as the first local Mexican tire enterprise, and the first Chinese tire enterprise in Mexico.
Governor Vallejo said in his speech that during his trip to China two months ago, he had a deep understanding of the advanced tire manufacturing capability and the strong corporate strength of Sailun Group, which deepened his trust in Sailun and became determined to accelerate the implementation of the project. The governor expressed gratitude to Sailun Group for its investment, which not only promotes the economic development of Guanajuato State, but also provides high quality jobs for local college students and talents. Guanajuato State attaches great importance to investment attraction and will provide convenient services to all enterprises doing business in Guanajuato. Mayor Cervantes also extended warm welcome to Sailun Group for coming to Guanajuato from afar and congratulations for the establishment of the joint venture enterprise.
Yuan Zhongxue said in his speech that it marks a new starting point, opportunity, and direction for the comprehensive cooperation between Sailun and TD. It is also a deeper cooperation between the two countries' rubber and tire business from market to production, and even technology. Sailun Group will send the best management team and technical team to build a "flexible factory" different from the traditional tire manufacturing plant, and apply advantageous resources of the entire industry chain, such as the industrial internet platform "Eco-Rubber Cloud" and a full set of intelligent equipment. This will help to establish a more advanced, intelligent and environmentally friendly tire manufacturing plant to promote more sustainable social development and provide green and safe products for global users.
Santamarina recalled the history of TD and Sailun Group's joint development, sharing weal and woe and expressed his gratitude for the efforts and support of various parties for the establishment of the joint venture enterprise. It is expected that the joint venture company takes full advantage of the two sides to promote development and growth of the Mexican tire industry.
