Sailun Tire Reaches the Top 8 of FIA Intercontinental Drifting Cup
On Nov. 30th and Dec. 1st, the world's highest level of drifting competition, the 2019 FIA Intercontinental Drifting Cup (IDC), officially started in Tsukuba Circuit, Ibaraki, Japan. 25 top drivers from 16 countries including China, Japan, England, Thailand, Malaysia, Italy, New Zealand and more served up a visual feast to racing enthusiasts. In the end, 3 drives from Sailun Tire Drift Team reached the top 8 showcasing the strength of Sailun Tire products and the skill of the drivers.
In order to enter the FIA IDC, all participants are required to have obtained at least one national championship title to qualify. As their first entry on the global competition stage, Sailun Tire Drift Team were equipped with brand new racing cars and selected outstanding drivers with the likes of Tengku Djan Ley, Chen Wenqian, Feng Renzhi, and Xia Changhao for this world-class competition. In the face intense competition and an unfamiliar track, the team delivered their best performance to-date. 3 drivers except Xia Changhao reached into the last 16 during the singles qualifying rounds and the drift chase finals. In the final, Feng Renzhi was pitted against the winner of 2017 FIA IDC, Masato Kawabata, while Tengku Djan Ley had to take on Mad Mike, whose car has the most powerful engine, and Chen Wenqian against the champion of 2018 FIA IDC, Georgy Chivchyan. The had to take on the world's top racing drivers in their debut on the world stage. In the end, Feng Renzhi and Tengku Djan Ley reached the top eight showing their extraordinary strength and immeasurable potential.

Due to the continued win streaks and after continuous racing tire tests, technology accumulation, and the use of cutting-edge technology, Sailun Tire officially established the SAILUN MOTORSPORT department in the beginning of October 2019. The department specializes in racing tire R&D, slick and semi-slick tire testing, provides on-site technical support to the drifting team, and are in charge of the global sales of the newest category of Sailun tire products. "GENE R", the professional sports tires produced by SAILUN MOTORSPORT, are divided into two series: GENE R Podium, which are racing specific, and GENE R Pole which are meant for amateur and street purposes. Both product series are planned for launch in early 2020 for global consumers. Consumers will soon be able to experience the driving experience of top-notch tires in their daily lives. In the future, Sailun Tire will continue to launch new tire products for racing, rally, formula, and more to increase the product types, develop top of the line tire technology, and to export china-developed tire products to world-class events.
