First Tire Rolls Off Line at Sailun's Indonesia Plant, Marking Strategic Leap in Globalization
Sailun Group celebrated a historic milestone on May 28 as the first high-performance passenger car radial tire (PCR) successfully rolled off the line at the new Indonesia production base. It signifies the official launch of Sailun’s fourth overseas production base in Southeast Asia and a critical advancement in the company’s globalization strategy.
This inaugural tire incorporates Sailun’s latest R&D innovations and is specifically optimized for Southeast Asia’s hot and rainy climate. It delivers enhanced safety and excellent energy efficiency, featuring a low rolling resistance tread compound tailored to Indonesia’s fuel efficiency demands. An innovative groove drainage design addresses wet-season driving risks, improving wet grip by 15% and achieving AA-grade on high-speed stability under EU regulations on labelling of tires.
The establishment of Sailun’s production base in Indonesia marks a strategic move in its global expansion. Indonesia, as the largest economy in Southeast Asia, boasts a thriving automotive sector and robust tire demand. Its abundant natural rubber resources and port access provide Sailun with integrated raw material security and logistics efficiency. At full capacity, the Indonesia production base will produce 3.6 million PCR and 37,000 tons of off-road tires (OTR) annually, propelling local industrial and economic growth through deepened localization.
