China proving ground to become Sailun subsidiary
Sailun Group aims to take a majority share in the East China (Dongying) Intelligent Connected Vehicle Proving Ground, a joint venture facility it established together with vehicle manufacturer FAW Group and Dongying City. By investing an additional RMB 420 million (£45.8 million, US$57.9 million) the tyre maker will increase its stake in the venture from 37.22 per cent to 57.41 per cent, and the proving ground will become a Sailun subsidiary. The capital increase will help finance additional facilities at the site.

Sailun further increasing all-steel tyre capacity in Cambodia
At a board meeting held yesterday, the directors of Sailun Group unanimously approved a further US$93.48 million investment in the company’s Cart Tire Co., Ltd. subsidiary in Cambodia. With this investment, which includes a construction investment of $61.18 million and working capital of $32.30 million, the facility in Svay Rieng will gain additional capacity to produce 1.65 million all-steel radial tyres annually.

Sailun China-Europe railway departs for the first time
On 10 January, the Sailun Supply Chain Special Train departed from Jinan Dongjiazhen Station for the first time. This train, full of tyres, is a component of the China-Europe Railway Express, which transports products produced by Sailun to Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Sailun Group achieves EcoVadis silver sustainability rating
Sailun Group recently achieved the EcoVadis silver sustainability rating, placing the company among the top 15 per cent of businesses worldwide that participated in the evaluation. Sailun achieved bronze in 2023. The latest recognition follows the upgrade of Sailun Group’s MSCI ESG rating to “BB”.
